Ibiza Beach Club – Movenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu

Had one of our dinner here during our stay at Movenpick Hotel and Resort. Ibiza Beach Cub is actually a bar by the sea that has indoor and outdoor dining area. According to my husband “it’s just a typical bar with amazing views of the sea”. For me it is ideal for a group of friends or couple who wants to unwind and enjoy the night with good food, live music and drinks.

We experienced their indoor dining which has a modern setup that has a view of the sea. It’s good for couple who wants to spend private and intimate time together. Romantic I must say.

Since we had so much buffets from breakfast to dinner during our first day of stay at the resort, Derick and I opted to try their Ala Carte meals.

Wagyu Goulash Soup

For starter we had Wagyu Goulash Soup pair with their complementary focaccia bread. The goulash tasted good however it wasn’t as good as the one we had in Austria. It lacked the richness of the soup which was supposed to be a little bit thick.

Seafood Marinara

Pork Baby Back Ribs with mashed potato, coleslaw and corn cob on the side.

For our mains we ordered Seafood Marinara and Pork Baby Back Ribs with mashed potato, coleslaw and corn cob on the side. The Seafood Marinara is a spaghetti pasta tossed in a tomato with capers, olives, fresh basil and selection of fresh seafood. The taste was so-so for us nothing extraordinary although it looked fresh and yummy. The Pork Ribs was good, properly seasoned, juicy and tender. I loved it! However the mashed potato was a letdown. It was not smooth and creamy. It wasn’t mashed properly, mine has a big chunks of potato. I only ate 1/3 of it. The coleslaw was bland and was drowned with raisins.

We didn’t ordered any dessert to avoid sugar rush, since we had so much sweets during the day. And besides from that I had no space in my tummy to accommodate desserts. The pork baby back rib that I had was huge that I even forced myself to finish it.

After our dinner we stayed for a while to enjoy the live band playing.

I gave 4.0 rating because of the beautiful ambiance and the service was excellent. Yeah, definitely we will comeback to try their house specials and of course their buffet.
