Yanbu KSA | Chasing Sunset at the Waterfront Park

Waterfront Park is the newest and the largest family park in the Royal Commission area. The long stretch of gardens and playgrounds is definitely a haven for families to enjoy a fantastic weekend by the sea.

The park has gazebos that can accommodate large families for picnics. Children have their own playgrounds equipped with swing sets and slides. There are cafe shops and McDonald’s if in case you need something to munch.  It also has beach areas for those who want to take a dip and feel the Red Sea waters.

What I love about this park aside from its beautiful sea views and landscape, is that it also offers the best sunset views. My husband and I usually come here just to relax after a long day at work.

You may visit the park if in case you happen to be in Yanbu. The park is open every day and offers free admission.

  1. Great photos – Can I ask if this park is in Saudi Arabia? Maybe I am dumb but I didn’t find information here in this post. I would love to visit Saudi Arabia but my question is – is it possible for a EU passport holder to travel in Saudi Arabia?
If you know any information, I would be grateful! 🙂

    1. Hi Tom. Yes, this place is in Saudi Arabia. With regards to your question regarding EU passport holders traveling to Saudi Arabia, well its not going to be that simple. EU passport holders would need to get a visa to travel to Saudi Arabia. This country is not as open as other countries here in the Middle East. From what I know, visas are only granted for people traveling to Saudi Arabia on official business (with the exception of the pilgrims traveling to Mecca).

    1. Hi Christopher. Actually there are also very few leisure areas here in Saudi Arabia. My husband and I have been to Istanbul. You have more things to do there in terms of leisure compared to where we are right now. 🙂

  2. Wow! That’s a beautiful sunset. I’m all for sunset in the beach and since I live an hour distance from the beach and I go there atleast once a month. I like how Yanbu is so empty and not crowded!

    1. Yanbu Al Sinaiyah is a small industrial city within Yanbu. Majority of the people living are expats like me and my husband. The place is very much unlike the other places here in Saudi Arabia as you can see in the pictures. Thanks for the comment… 🙂

  3. This place brings me back memories of Abu Dhabi which had this kind of a waterfront beach, I used to love going there as a kid. Am sure that is how the other kids these days would feel about this. Lovely place for a family.

  4. What a pretty park! I love the idea of a pink gazebo, or any gazebo really. And the sunset photos are gorgeous. I think any sunset is better at the beach!
