El Nido Resorts Palawan: A One Of A Kind Honeymoon Destination

It is indeed PURE BLISS to wed the person you dearly love. All the hard work and stressful wedding preparations paid off the moment you see that everything is coming together during the wedding day. However behind every successful and memorable wedding is a stressed and exhausted bride. No, I’m definitely not complaining because going through it all was very rewarding and priceless. But hey, every bride deserves a special treat after the wedding, right? Thankfully there’s a thing called ‘Honeymoon’.

I’m very pleased that my husband chose El Nido Resorts as our honeymoon destination. Wanna know why? Let me share with you guys our experience at the resort 9 years ago and what makes it one-of-a-kind destination.

img_0726editedJuly 2007 – the easiest way to reach El Nido is through a chartered flight. Everything was arranged for us, so basically we went to the hangar and took our flight to the island. It was an hour flight from Manila to El Nido. Upon arrival, all guests were brought to the arrival lounge by a short jeepney ride from the tarmac. We were greeted by a very charming staff and she gave us a little background about the island. She also handed us a personalized detailed itinerary of activities during our stay. Impressive!

We stayed in Miniloc which is known as El Nido’s Eco-Discovery island resort. Surrounded by lush green forest and limestone cliffs the island provides seclusion with a coastal village vibe. It has a beach front and cliff cottages that are in ‘bahay kubo’ style which is very cute. They also have water cottages that are built in stilts. Each accommodation has a rustic design with great amenities inside.

Day 1 activities: Fish feeding swimming with the jack fish and sunset cruise.

img_0543editedIn Miniloc, guests can swim with the 1.5-meter jack fish and get up close and personal with a variety of marine species at its house reef.

Miniloc Island is also a gateway to discover and explore the popular attractions around Bacuit Bay, such as the Big and Small Lagoons and Snake Island.

Day 2 activities: Exploring the big and small lagoons, lunch at Pangalusian island, visit caves and snake island, and deep water fishing.

After exploring the lagoons we headed to Pangalusian island for lunch. Pangalusian is also know as the ‘island of the sun’ because it has breathtaking views of both the sunrise and sunset. While approaching the island, you will notice the long stretch of pristine white sand beach.

Our lunch buffet was prepared in a native set-up by the beach. The food was exquisite. From where we ate, our view of the beach was just fantastic. You can’t get any better than that, honestly.

img_0619editedAfter our sumptuous lunch we were given time to enjoy the beach or request a masseuse and have a very relaxing siesta.  Others can also enjoy the non-motorized water equipment like kayak and a hobbie-cat sail.

Day 3 activities: Exploring Lagen Island

img_0695editedWe’re up before the day break to welcome and witness the sunrise while cruising our way to Lagen island for an early morning trek. The Lagen forest houses several species of birds.

We saw some birds during our trek. I’m so happy to see them thrive peacefully in their own natural habitat.

Before I forget, did I mention that everyday is a feast in the resort? Oh yes, you will surely fill that tummy up to the brim with delicious international buffets from breakfast to dinner. I literally gained weight in a span of 3 days. It was really difficult to resist all the delicious treats they have prepared for you.

To wrap it all, here are the things I love about our El Nido Resorts experience.

  • The romantic setting and seclusion made it a perfect honeymoon destination.
  • Amazing views with unspoiled natural beauty
  • Exquisite food all throughout our stay.
  • Fun and romantic activities for couples.
  • Personalized and exceptional service. All the staff are excellent.
  • They promote sustainability and awareness of biodiversity conservation.

Honestly, you don’t want to leave El Nido Resorts after the exceptional treatment you experienced. It was truly a beautiful and unforgettable moment! I got teary-eyed when the staff sang and bid goodbye as our boat was slowly moving away.

It’s almost 10 years now and I guess it’s time to relive the experience again. See you soon El Nido Resorts!
