Colorful Baroque buildings, Gothic churches, Medieval Astronomical clock and charming fairy tale settings – are some of the enticing attributes of Prague that swayed many tourists from around the world to explore the city. Having that clear picture in my mind, it was also the reason why I was so eager to see Prague in person.
Prague, City of aย Hundred Spires, aย UNESCO monument and one of the most beautiful cities in the world. – Czech Tourism
Back in August 2016, we booked the Taste of Eastern Europe tour primarily to visit Prague.ย I can’t almost contain my excitement whenย Derick and I finally set foot in the city of a hundred spires.ย However all my excitement were turned into disappointment. Why? First, it rained and all we had was a gloomy day. That alone was a huge minus for taking amazing pictures. Second, I can’t barely stand in the crowd. Our visit coincided with the World Youth Day in Poland and those who attended the event also visited Prague. The huge influx of tourists totally ruined the serenity of the place.ย It was madness!
The reality versus expectation was real.ย Instead of appreciating the beauty of the place that I have been dying to see, I saw chaos. People will bump you here and there. Taking decent photos was really a struggle. I got few fine photos but not enough and not the kind of pictures I would like to share in my blog. That’s the reason why I didn’t write an article about Prague after our first visit.
To make the long story short, our first visit in Prague wasn’t that pleasing. That being said, we booked another trip to Prague last August. For the second time I did not expect that much and I also prepared myself to see things positively regardless of any situation.
Good things happen when you least expect it. Surprisingly, everything was perfect during our second visit. It was a beautiful day to explore the city. The sun was up and there’s no swarm of people attacking the city.
Would you like to see Prague in a perfect summer day? Well then follow me and let’s explore the city through my pictures.

Yeah, I saw many people rubbing the statues but I don’t know the reason why? Is it for a good luck? ๐

I first saw Prague in a Japanese live-action series called Nodame Cantabile and, ever since, I’ve been hooked! My destination for the next 2-3 years is Latin America, however, so Europe is still too far ahead.

As much as Prague is an amazing city, I had a bad experience there also, visiting for the first time! The city was so crowded we couldn’t see a thing in the Old city centre. Oh well, next time, glad you made it! ๐

I have nearly 2000 pictures of Prague and have been wondering how to make a selection. More importantly, how to structure a post around those pictures. This city is pure magic.

Interesting to see the city of 100 spires! Somehow Eastern Europe is always overlooked when compared to Western Europe. Prague is in my wishlist, for 2018. Hope I’ll manage it! Lennon wall & Astronomical Clock are my top picks.
