Exploring Prague: The City Of A Hundred Spires

Colorful Baroque buildings, Gothic churches, Medieval Astronomical clock and charming fairy tale settings – are some of the enticing attributes of Prague that swayed many tourists from around the world to explore the city. Having that clear picture in my mind, it was also the reason why I was so eager to see Prague in person.

Back in August 2016, we booked the Taste of Eastern Europe tour primarily to visit Prague. I can’t almost contain my excitement when Derick and I finally set foot in the city of a hundred spires. However all my excitement were turned into disappointment. Why? First, it rained and all we had was a gloomy day. That alone was a huge minus for taking amazing pictures. Second, I can’t barely stand in the crowd. Our visit coincided with the World Youth Day in Poland and those who attended the event also visited Prague. The huge influx of tourists totally ruined the serenity of the place. It was madness!

The reality versus expectation was real.  Instead of appreciating the beauty of the place that I have been dying to see, I saw chaos. People will bump you here and there. Taking decent photos was really a struggle. I got few fine photos but not enough and not the kind of pictures I would like to share in my blog. That’s the reason why I didn’t write an article about Prague after our first visit.

To make the long story short, our first visit in Prague wasn’t that pleasing. That being said, we booked another trip to Prague last August. For the second time I did not expect that much and I also prepared myself to see things positively regardless of any situation.

Good things happen when you least expect it. Surprisingly, everything was perfect during our second visit. It was a beautiful day to explore the city. The sun was up and there’s no swarm of people attacking the city.

Would you like to see Prague in a perfect summer day? Well then follow me and let’s explore the city through my pictures.
