Disney Hollywood Hotel is one of the three hotels of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. We booked this hotel as our accommodation in the ‘3 Magical Days Disney Getaway Package’ we availed for reasons of comfort and convenience. It’s a mere 2 kilometers away from the Disneyland Park entrance. Hotel guests can even take a shuttle bus going back and forth from the hotel to the park.
The package has 3 hotel options the Disney Explorers Lodge, Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and Disney Hollywood Hotel. We chose the latter because it was the cheapest of all three. Let’s be honest, who would stay inside the hotel when you are in Disneyland – right? So why pay more for something you can’t use during your stay? And frankly Disney Hollywood Hotel was not inferior when it comes to breakfast, amenities and service.
Ambiance and Reception
Glitz and glam of classic Hollywood is the hotel’s theme. It exudes a theatrical vibe as soon as you enter the place. The vibrant colors and classic Disney decors provides a lively ambiance that will make you excited of what’s about to unfold.
The hotel was already expecting our arrival. As soon as Derick presented our confirmed booking online everything was ready. After a few minutes of instructions about our package (i.e. what, where, when and how we can avail of some vouchers and discount coupons), we got to settle in our room. We were able to avail of the priority and early check-in which was good because we had a half day head start at the park.
Aside from the original package that we booked, we were also given extra perks during our stay. Our room was upgraded to the Celebration Room which offers a view of the fireworks show.
Celebration Room Decoration
Our Celebration Room included door/mirror stickers, bed runner, 4 sets of slippers, greeting card and balloons. I remember how surprised we were when we first saw our room with all the celebration decors that we can take home after our stay. Cool!
Bathroom toiletries comes with a cute Mickey Mouse packaging. Toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, razors, shower cap and more were packed inside a Mickey tumbler.
The room was also equipped with High-Speed Internet – Free Wired & WiFi Service, Telephone, Hair Dryer, In-Room Safe, Refrigerator, Coffee & Tea Making Facilities, Air Conditioning, Bathroom Amenities, Flat-Screen LCD TV and Shower & Bathtub Combo.
Breakfast at Chef Mickey’s Cafe
There’s nothing more exciting than starting your day with a good breakfast and having a photo session with Chef Mickey at his grand cafe. One of the perks staying in Disney Hotel is the opportunity to get up close and personal with Disney characters.
With its high ceilings and shining polished-chrome columns, Chef Mickey recalls the lavish Art Deco-styled studio commissaries of Hollywood’s Golden Age. Look out for Hidden Mickey decorations and whimsical murals depicting sketches of some of your favorite Disney characters.
The restaurant’s atmosphere with all the Mickey Mouse decors and aesthetics brought us to Mickey’s magical world which truly made our dining experience extraordinary.
What’s cool about it are the Disney character decorations you’ll find in each station. The food were also prepared with different design that’s ideal for picky children.
The breakfast spread has a variety of food selection and different cuisines. However, it wasn’t impressive when it comes to taste. For me the taste was mediocre. Aside from that, we noticed that the breakfast buffet doesn’t change menu on a daily basis. We actually had the same food items in the two days we had breakfast in the hotel.
Garden and Swimming Pool
Outside the hotel, one would find a huge garden with amazing views overlooking Discovery Bay. Just like in Beverly Hills, you can see lined palm trees, beautifully landscaped gardens and grasses that are perfectly trimmed. A swimming pool and the children’s playground can also be found here.

Picture Perfect Backdrops
Finally the resort is very Instagrammable. I couldn’t help myself striking a pose. Please don’t judge me! I’m sure most hotel guests did the same too.
How I wish we had another day to explore Sunny Bay and other neighboring Disney properties. I really would like to dine and try the other Disney Hotels’ offering. Hopefully we can come back and try the other hotels in the park.
Overall Experience
What else can we say about Disney Hollywood Hotel? Everything was amazing from check-in, during our stay and until check-out. The services extended to us and extra perks were incredible. Although the rooms were a little bit dated and the breakfast was mediocre, these are just minor things which I’m sure they can improve soon. No complaints here. All we have are happy memories which we will forever cherish.

I haven’t checked it yet. It must be worth it if that’s the case. I guess price isn’t an issue if you’re after comfort and convenience. 🙂

Exactly! It is something to look forward to every breakfast. It would have been nice if Minnie was also present during breakfast too. 🙂
